Poet Populist

In 1999 Seattle City Council Member Nick Licata created a public literary arts program called the Poet Populist, which (with zero funding and no producer) had achieved only minor success. In 2007, the Seattle City Council hired Luna Park to see if the program could be fixed (and then to fix it): we increased voter participation 400%, instituted an education program and a year-round calendar of events, created an interactive website, and began pitching the program to other cities.
