How To WFH Without Losing Your Mind

“A recent Glassdoor report revealed that 70% of employees surveyed wanted to split the week between home and office, 26% wanted to work from home full-time and only 4% wanted to fully return to the office.”

This means that work from home is most likely here to stay. So, how do we make work from home work for us?

We know you’re an absolute boss when it comes to getting things done, but when it comes to making sure that you don’t lose sight of your self-care, sense of self, self-manicure, self-love, well that’s a whole ‘nother story. The weird thing is, if you want to get back to yourself, you actually have to reach out to the people around you. So here are three things you can do to help make your work from home a little less stressful.

  • Build new routines
  • Hit up your coworkers
  • Remember: it takes a village to make it happen

#1. BUILD NEW ROUTINES

What’s that, you say? You already have a bazillion things to do today, and you definitely don’t have time for ANOTHER thing on your plate? Well, what about if that other thing was only 5 minutes long? Maybe it’s 5 minutes you spend alone with your coffee at your breakfast table, not doing a single thing but being present. Or maybe it’s sitting on your porch and taking in your surroundings. It just takes 5 minutes; you deserve it.

#2. HIT UP YOUR COWORKERS

Some of us spend more time with our coworkers than we do with our family, so you might as well scooch a little bit closer in those company photos. Try asking a coworker to do a coffee over zoom. If you’re not sure how to start, you can send them a quick and to the point message like: “Hi (their name), wondering if you would be down for a coffee hang over zoom sometime? I just think you’re very cool and would like to be friends.” Believe it or not, those little things are what make connections happen. And connections make us feel less alone.

#3 IT TAKES A VILLAGE

Repeat after me: No one does anything alone. No one. Not a single person. And anyone who tells you otherwise is full of it. It’s just impossible. So remember, whether you like it or not, you are not alone. Try and do more things as a company, such as (cough) joining a Luna Park game (cough). Sorry, I had a very exciting bug in my throat. It’s just a fact that if we experience positive group dynamics, it’s more likely that we will feel connected to the individuals within that group.

Working from home is a roller coaster. So if your inner voice has turned into an insane ringleader and the walls are closing in on you, Luna Park is here for you.
